Here we see something I noticed about Romania that is very different from the US—women holding hands as they walk. Women of all ages do this, not all the time mind you, but enough that this inhibited American Midwesterner took notice. In the US you might see two young girls do it for a little while until one decides to go off skipping in another direction. I think it's very nice—showing a special bond of friendship—something that can only be expressed between two females. Guys might be able to get away with arms loosely put on each other's shoulders while attempting to sing and stagger, hopefully in the same direction, to the next watering hole. |
